Erica Phillips LVT
After graduating from the veterinary technology program at Colorado Mountain College, I moved to Chicago where I spent my first year as an LVT working only with cats. Although I learned an abundance of new skills and tools I had not yet found my niche in the veterinary world. I was given the opportunity to moved back to Grand Rapids and work as an LVT in a small animal and exotic practice, and I was thankful for this opportunity. I became a stronger more confident technician. The amount of new information I gained allowed me to be an efficient technician with superb skills. The springboard had been loaded for my continued success into the future of veterinary medicine as an LVT.
After some time at the new practice, I found animal behavior to be more and more of an interest to me and so I decide to pursue this interest and headed to GVSU to complete a BS in psychology with an emphasis in animal behavior. I know follw Dr. Sophia Yin and Karen Pryor, to name a few, in the growing field of positive reinforcement training, and find that the results of using these methods are overwhelmingly successful.
I have continued to practice in different venues of veterinary medicine, including Michigan State's Large Animal Teaching Hospital as an emergency and neonatal intensive care LVT, but find that no matter where I go, my passion and drive for making sure all animals get the best care remains the same.
I am dedicated to helping people, even myself, better understand their animals so they eceive the best care possible. It is with us as their voice that our animals can live long, healthy, and happy lives. I look forward to and dedicate myself to this promise everyday.

Annie
Annis is beautiful Golden Retriever with amazing energy and a big heart. She is a true soul mate, always there and in tune to your world. Annie gives me hope that our bonds with animals are not just skin deep, they run throughout our inner workings making us more compassionate about caring for out pets. With Annie around I am reminded everyday why I love being a Licensed Veterinary Technician and why it is so important to me to help animals in any way that I can.
